The Calian Nuclear team provides a comprehensive range of services covering the entire nuclear lifecycle. This includes Safety Analysis, Licensing, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Protection, Decommissioning, Waste management, and cutting-edge Systems Engineering and Robotics.
Position Overview
The Project Manager is accountable for leading and delivering projects in Calian’s Nuclear and Environmental division from initiation to closeout, while effectively balancing the requirements of quality, scope, schedule, and budget.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of skilled engineers, analysts, vendors and other project support staff to deliver projects/programs/portfolios on time and on budget.
- Develop, track and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Identify and manage project risks.
- Liaise effectively with clients.
- Monitor and control progress on the project, providing regular updates on schedule and budget to senior management and to clients.
- Develop new clients and projects based on expertise in project areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, business, or business administration;
- At least 15-20 years’ experience of managing projects is required;
- PMP or equivalent project management training is considered an asset;
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project;
- Working knowledge and application of quality standards, CNSC regulatory documents, and other applicable nuclear codes and standards is preferable;
- Demonstrated technical writing experience;
- A demonstratable track record in managing multiple customers and coordination of multiple projects or large programs simultaneously;
- Demonstrated team building skills coupled with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of budgeting and scheduling;
- Condition of employment is acquiring nuclear site security clearance;
- Willingness to work at customer sites (may include Toronto, Tiverton, Durham Region, Regina, or Ottawa);
- Experience with nuclear and environmental related projects is an asset; and
- Excellent problem-solving skills, team-player who looks for win-win solutions and provides excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible for Government of Canada security clearance.
- Must be able to work hybrid within the Greater Toronto Area and be willing to travel as required.
