Position Overview

As the Sr. Manager, Global People Technology & Data, you will build and lead Calian's Global People Technology function, creating the strategy, roadmap, and technology ecosystem that supports our employees worldwide.

This is a unique opportunity to establish a new function from the ground up, transforming fragmented systems, manual processes, and disconnected data into an integrated, scalable, and intelligent employee experience.

Reporting to the Director, Global HR Operations, you will partner across Human Resources, Information Services, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and business leaders to drive digital transformation across the employee lifecycle. You will oversee the evolution of our People Technology landscape, including HRIS, recruitment technology, payroll systems, workforce analytics, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and digital employee experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year Global People Technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Assess current-state systems, processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and integration.
  • Define and lead the evolution of a scalable global People Technology ecosystem.
  • Oversee People Technology platforms including HRIS, applicant tracking systems, payroll technologies, learning platforms, talent management systems, employee engagement tools, workflow automation solutions, and future technology investments.
  • Establish governance models, standards, and operating practices for People Technology across the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate, select, implement, and optimize technology solutions that support business growth.
  • Lead the development of trusted, governed workforce data and reporting frameworks.
  • Enable executive decision-making through workforce insights, dashboards, analytics, and KPIs.
  • Champion process excellence by streamlining workflows, increasing self-service capabilities, and reducing manual effort.
  • Identify and implement automation and AI opportunities that improve efficiency and enhance the employee experience.
  • Support global expansion initiatives, acquisitions, and workforce integrations across multiple employment models and jurisdictions.
  • Ensure systems and processes balance global consistency with local compliance requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships across HR, Information Services, Payroll, Finance, Security, Legal, and operational teams.
  • Lead enterprise-wide change management initiatives related to People Technology transformation.
  • Manage vendor relationships and strategic technology partnerships.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing People Technology and Data team.
  • Provide leadership and direction to People Technology specialists and workforce analytics professionals.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience leading People Technology, HR Technology, Enterprise Applications, Digital HR, or related functions.
  • Experience building, transforming, or modernizing People Technology ecosystems within global or high-growth organizations.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS platforms, enterprise applications, systems integrations, APIs, data governance, and workforce analytics.
  • Experience supporting global technology environments and navigating regional compliance, privacy, and operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of payroll technologies and global workforce management solutions.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing technology solutions, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Proven leadership experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience leading large-scale cross-functional transformation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and executive teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or organizational integrations is considered a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors or similar enterprise HR platforms is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated product mindset with the ability to balance business priorities, user experience, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Builder mentality with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and deliver practical solutions.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and globally distributed environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Reliability Status security clearance may be required.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and organizational adoption practices.
  • Passion for technology innovation, digital transformation, workforce analytics, and AI-driven solutions.
  • Experience working with diverse workforce models including employees, contractors, consultants, international workers, and Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements is considered an asset.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $125,000 CAD annually, plus eligibility for applicable incentive programs.
