Position Overview

As the Infrastructure Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our global IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Director, you’ll lead and mentor our IT Systems and Networking teams. Your responsibilities include ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure. Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Management:

  • Oversee daily activities of the IT Systems and Networking teams.
  • Provide feedback to the Sr. Director on headcount requirements, capacity, costs, and utilization.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team, ensuring continuous professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Make independent decisions related to resources and approach for the teams.
  • Set objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to promote growth and inclusion.

2. Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of Calian’s global IT infrastructure, ensuring stability, availability, and security of systems and networks.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all IS infrastructure, including data centers, cloud environments, and on-premises systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

3. Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Provide input to the Strategic Plan for the IT Systems and Networking departments to support business growth and acquisition integration.
  • Execute the business plan and report on progress of deliverables.
  • Contribute to tactical plans and help develop, modify, and execute Calian IS policies.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve infrastructure management capabilities.

4. Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure all IT infrastructure complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices to protect the organization’s data and assets.

5. Automation & Modernization:

  • Drive the automation of routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort, leveraging tools and scripts.
  • Identify opportunities for modernizing legacy systems and processes, implementing innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to align infrastructure improvements with overall business objectives.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or APICS are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with common information security management frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NIST).
  • Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Knowledge of networking, systems administration, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Awareness of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with Atlassian JSM, Confluence, OpsGenie, Dell systems, VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes, Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki is valuable.
