Position Overview

 

The Manager, ERP Systems is responsible for the operation, accuracy, efficacy, and integrity of Calian's SAP and SuccessFactors ERP landscape. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Applications, this person is a key player in the integration of ERP solutions into the operational business units and Corporate Services departments. Further, the Manager, ERP Systems is responsible for managing a team of highly-skilled functional analysts, overseeing any third-party Application Management Support (AMS) services and advise on the impact of any improvement, subsidiary integration, and upgrade projects. 

 
Responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the overall mandate of the Information Systems division, aligning ERP support activities with broader organizational goals and strategies. 
  • Lead the team of ERP functional analysts by providing day to day management and guidance, establish a team dynamic that fosters Calian Culture and Values, while collaborating closely with Infrastructure and Cyber teams to address any cross-domain impacts and ensure seamless operation. 
  • Ensure effective utilization of SAP and SuccessFactors by providing necessary information and support to business units and Corporate Services departments, while also optimizing system configurations for maximum productivity. 
  • Proactively support internal and external audit requirements related to ERP systems, ensuring compliance and addressing any identified issues. 
  • Develop and recommend service level objectives (SLOs) for Business Applications, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and objectives. 
  • Oversee the analysis of user needs and facilitate the evolution and expansion of ERP solutions and processes to meet those needs effectively. 
  • Plan, communicate and execute projects aimed at achieving IS strategic plan objectives and Business Applications goals, such as system enhancements, upgrades, and process optimizations. 
  • Identify and acquire necessary consulting resources to support ERP initiatives and projects as required, ensuring optimal utilization and value delivery. 
  • Supervise and mentor personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture while ensuring effective resource allocation and skill development.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members towards achieving common goals. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, necessary for liaising with various stakeholders across the organization and effectively conveying technical information to non-technical audiences. 
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP and/or other ERP systems, including configuration, customization, and integration capabilities. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, essential for diagnosing and resolving complex issues within ERP systems and processes. 
  • Project management expertise, including the ability to plan, execute, and oversee ERP-related projects from initiation to completion. 
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, enabling the manager to align ERP initiatives with organizational objectives and contribute to long-term success. 
  • Adaptability and flexibility to navigate changing priorities, technologies, and business requirements in a dynamic environment. 
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on the latest ERP trends, best practices, and technologies. 
  • Ensure that the above duties and responsibilities are performed following the principles and intent of Change Management as described in policy IS-0012 Change Management. 
  • Internal controls must be in place to ensure the Company’s financial information, as presented by the Corporation, is complete, timely and accurate. Calian’s management has the responsibility to ensure its systems and processes are designed to support the achievement of the Company’s overall business objectives. 

 

As a manager of Calian you are responsible to ensure: 

  • You understand and follow Corporate Policies and Procedures, which relate to the system of internal controls. Specifically: Corporate Policies CO-009 Internal Controls, CO-013 Treatment of Concerns, and CO-002 Public Disclosure  
  • You understand and follow all of the Financial Policies and Procedures for Calian; 
  • You understand and follow Calian’s Guide to Ethical Business Practices; 
  • You communicate as required the above Policies and Procedures to your staff. 

 

Qualifications

  • 10 years experience in ERP management role, or equivalent 
  • 5 years experience in personnel and project management 
  • Experience managing vendors 
  • Experience in the business methods and models associated with service oriented and manufacturing companies 
  • Excellent collaboration skills 
  • Excellent communications and negotiation skills
