Position Overview

The Nuclear Process Improvement Coordinator is responsible for assisting with initiatives to enhance the efficiency, safety, and reliability of Calian Nuclear operations through process optimization and continuous improvement strategies.

This role involves analyzing existing workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry benchmarks.

 

In addition to these duties, the Coordinator will also take on Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) responsibilities, ensuring that all processes meet the highest quality standards, conducting audits, and contributing to the development and maintenance of Quality Management systems.

 

The ideal candidate will possess top tier analytical skills, a strong understanding of Nuclear industry regulations, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and safety.

 

Responsibilities

•        Assist in analyzing current operations to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement, developing and

•        Implement strategies to enhance workflow, safety, and operational effectiveness while maintaining compliance with industry regulations

•        Participate as part of technical project teams to support project planning, development and realization, as required, within the Nuclear division

•        Assist in maintaining the existing Quality Management System and confirm its fitness for purpose on an ongoing basis

•        Conduct thorough audits of management system processes, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with safety protocols

•        Maintain detailed documentation of quality assurance activities, audit results, and safety compliance records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility

•        Monitor and analyze quality assurance and safety data, identifying trends and potential risks, and suggesting improvements

•        Other duties, as required

 

Qualifications

•        A relevant undergraduate degree in Sciences, Engineering, Nuclear and/or Business

•        3-5+ years experience working within Process Improvement/Quality Assurance

•        Proven experience working the end to end process of process improvement in a similar capacity

•        Knowledge of applicable Quality Management and Nuclear standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IS14005, N288, N286-12, N286.7, N299, etc.)

•        Experience and proficiency in writing technical documents

•        Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Sharepoint

•        Experience with SAP or a document management system will be considered a strong asset for this role
