Principal Architect, Enterprise Networking & Security

Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal Architect, Enterprise Networking focused on delivering Fortinet services.  This position will be the lead on delivering customer projects that are network-focused related to Fortinet.  The position requires someone who is hands-on and will perform the bulk of work related to technical delivery with the help of delivery engineers dedicated to the project.   The ideal candidate for this position comes from the Value-Added Reseller industry focused on Fortinet. The position requires experience with being the overall delivery engineer, delivering solutions for multiple sets of diverse clients.

Responsibilities

Service Delivery – 75%
o    Maintain subject matter expertise within technology focus area through research, training, and hands-on implementation.
o    Engage with Solutions Architects to validate solution architecture and assist with determining the Level of Effort for the scoped solution within a SOW.
o        Work with various Practice Managers and other Principal Architects within other technology focus areas to ensure that the complete solution is being delivered to the customer as per the statement of work.
o    Create and maintain methodologies consisting of solution kits, documentation standards, and project deliverables; ensure these methodologies are followed across all project engagements.
o    Work directly with technical engineers and other practice managers as well as non- technical end users.
o    Meet or exceed customer goals and objectives for the project within budget.
o    Explain detailed concepts and technologies to customers in pre-sales engagements.
o    Work closely with the Solution Architects, manufacturer partners and the customer to ensure a smooth transition from design to implementation and support.
o    Engage outside vendors to troubleshoot issues and tackle problems.
Business Development – 25%
o    Work with the Solution Architect(s) to grow and develop this segment of business.
o    Provide technical guidance and presentations to customers while attending sales calls with Account Managers, Solution Architects, or by themselves.
o    Hold periodic training sessions for Calian Corp Account Executives and Solution Architects so that they can identify opportunities in their accounts.
 
o    Develop and maintain vendor relationships for technology focus area.
o    Achieve and maintain proper certifications for highest levels of authorizations as mandated by the Vice President, Engineering and Consulting
o    Expertise on IP Technologies and extensive knowledge of WAN Technologies
o    Expert engineering knowledge of network hardware, specifically around routers and switches, with a strong focus on data center technology
o    Extensive experience and expertise on IP routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
o    Knowledge of encryption technologies (IPsec, SSL, ADVPN) protocols as it relates to Fortinet products such as FortiGate and FortiManager
o    Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols
o    Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments
o    Expert experience with Fortinet Route, Switch, and Firewall technologies
o    Expert experience with Fortinet Wireless technologies
o    Develop and maintain documentation and standards.
o    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines, while providing excellent customer service
o    Interest in being part of a team, and ability to work effectively with both local and remote staff, teammates, and managers.
o    Able to interact confidently with C-Level or Director-Level executives at customer sites.
o    Must be a team player with excellent communication skills at the business and technical level and while providing technical leadership to project teams
o    Relentless focus in delighting customers, treating colleagues regardless of position with utmost respect.

Qualifications

•    7+ years of related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology
•    At least 3+ years of experience in a Sr. Network Engineering role
•    Proven experience in designing and implementing Enterprise Networking solutions around Fortinet.
•    Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
•    Strong background with the following Fortinet products:
o    FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiEMS
•    Fortinet certifications are preferred but not required; possessing Fortinet FCP, FCSS, or FCX is a plus.
•    The selected candidate will be expected to obtain the FCP and FCSS certifications within 3 to 6 months of hire.
•    A strong customer advocate with the ability and willingness to engage directly with customers.

•    A data-driven and strategic decision-maker focusing on delivering results and driving continuous improvement
