The Calian Nuclear team provides a comprehensive range of services covering the entire nuclear lifecycle. This includes Safety Analysis, Licensing, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Protection, Decommissioning, Waste management, and cutting-edge Systems Engineering and Robotics.
Position Overview
The Project Controls Specialist plays a key role throughout the project lifecycle in Calian’s Nuclear and Environmental division. This includes supporting project setup, cost control, supplier contract management, reporting and documentation. This role is central to ensuring project efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal processes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Configure and set up projects in SAP, including DIP profiles and project structures.
- Integrate contracts post-proposal acceptance and support supplier onboarding.
- Maintain and update Projects and PREQs in SAP.
- Support PMs with cost reports, invoicing and expense reporting.
- Prepare divisions monthly invoicing instructions.
- Coordinate with PMs, Contract Billing, Contract Administration, and other internal teams.
- Maintain effective documentation and communication across project teams.
- Identify process improvements and support resolution of project control issues.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in business, project management, finance, accounting, or related field.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with SAP and document control systems.
- Experience with project administration software and processes (e.g. PMBOK).
- Intermediate knowledge using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Effective problem-solving and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsive and proactive in managing requests and priorities.
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada security clearance.
- This position is open to remote candidates across Canada. However, individuals located within 50 km of a Calian office are expected to work in a hybrid arrangement.
