The Calian Nuclear team provides a comprehensive range of services covering the entire nuclear lifecycle. This includes Safety Analysis, Licensing, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Protection, Decommissioning, Waste management, and cutting-edge Systems Engineering and Robotics.

Position Overview

The Scheduler can competently and independently perform all tasks to develop, update, and maintain project schedules through the entire life cycle. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures schedule accuracy, formatting, and compliance with internal governance through self-checks. Provides independent peer review of other people’s work. 
  • Supports development and update of internal scheduling governance.
  • Independently creates and updates multi-disciplinary schedules. 
  • Develops and maintains detailed schedules with logic ties, resource loading, and can perform critical path analysis. 
  • Knowledgeable about the application/use of standard WBSs.
  • Works with Senior Scheduler to baseline and re-baseline schedules.
  • Prepares detailed schedule reports, dashboards. Leads project or program team updates meetings. 
  • Provides guidance to junior schedulers and improves scheduling processes.
  • Proactively works with PMs and project teams.  
  • Other duties as required within the context of the role.

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of a university degree or college diploma in business or equivalent. 
  • 5-10 years of scheduling experience. 
  • 1-2 years of experience within the Nuclear industry is preferred.  
  • Advanced use of Primavera-based scheduling software (Oracle Primavera Cloud preferred).
  • Understanding of Earned Value Metrics (EVM). Familiar with producing EVMs from first principles.
  • Written and verbal communication is clear and concise.

  • Takes actions to continually improve scheduling processes.
  • Articulates Lessons Learned to management, customers, peers, and project team members.
  • Identifies schedule risks and recommends mitigation strategies
  • Analyse complex problems, develop solutions and implement them independently
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance
  • Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis

 

Compensation

$90,000 - $110,000 per annum.
